purxcel supplement

Purxcel is a dietary supplement based on clinically effective Tri-Active Technology (Bioavaiilable Glutathione, superoxide dismutase and Aloe Acemannan) in a proprietary blend of 18 complimentary ingredients.

Promoters say Purxcel is designed to help cleanse, balance and build the body at a cellular level. When mater antioxidants are raised, the cells become renewed and chronic health challenges can reverse. The supplement is touted to promote optimal health and longevity by supporting the body’s ability to neutralize damaging free radicals and remove toxins.

What are the ingredients in PurXcel?

This supplement is a blend of 18 complimentary ingredients but consist mainly of three main ingredients namely:

Glutathione: Glutathione is an antioxidant that occurs naturally in the cells of the body. It is also present in some foods. Recently, glutathione has been gaining popularity due to its alleged health benefits. As an antioxidant, glutathione helps neutralize free radicals and reduce oxidative stress that can damage the body’s cells.

A new glutathione study published in the may issue of the European Journal of Nutrition (EJN) indicates that oral glutathione supplementation benefits immune health describing it as a potentially important approach to counteract disorders associated with glutathione depletion, enhance detoxification capacity, and protect against disease.

Superoxide dismutase: Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is an enzyme that helps break down potentially harmful oxygen molecules in cells. This might prevent damage to tissues. It is being researched to see if it can help conditions where harmful oxygen molecules are believed to play a role in disease.

Studies have shown that SOD can be used as a pharmaceutical in treating various diseases resulting from oxidative stress. So far, research on the health effects of supplements containing superoxide dismutase is limited. What’s more, there’s some evidence that superoxide dismutase may not be absorbed by the body when taken in supplement form.

In alternative medicine, superoxide dismutase supplements are said to protect against the following conditions:

  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Cataracts
  • Gout
  • Inflammation
  • Interstitial cystitis
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Scleroderma

Superoxide dismutase is also said to slow up the aging process and reverse signs of aging in the skin. However, there is not enough evidence to support the use of SOD supplements for any of these uses.

Aloe Acemannan: Acemannan is a D-isomer mucopolysaccharide in aloe vera leaves. This compound has potential immunostimulant, antiviral, antineoplastic, and gastrointestinal properties. It has significant beneficial therapeutic effects such as immune-stimulating, antineoplasic and wound-healing actions.

Acemannan has been used for the management of wounds using protocols approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the past decade. In addition, FDA approval was recently obtained for the treatment of alveolar osteitis .

However, there’s some concern that the use of glutathione supplements may cause cramping and bloating. In addition, some people may experience allergic reactions to glutathione supplements, such as a rash. No allergic reactions or side-effects have been recorded in studies involving acemannan and  Superoxide dismutase, the other two main ingredients.

Basic Points to Consider Before Buying PurXcel

Do I need to think about my total diet?

Yes. Dietary supplements like PurXcel are intended to supplement the diets of some people, but not to replace the balance of the variety of foods important to a healthy diet. While you need enough nutrients, too much of some nutrients can cause problems.

Should I check with my doctor or healthcare provider before using a PurXcel supplement?

This is a good idea, especially for certain population groups. Dietary supplements may not be risk-free under certain circumstances. If you are pregnant, nursing a baby, or have a chronic medical condition, such as, diabetes, hypertension or heart disease, be sure to consult your doctor or pharmacist before purchasing PurXcel or taking any supplement.

While supplements are widely used and generally considered safe for children, you may wish to check with your doctor or pharmacist before giving these or any other dietary supplements to your child. If you plan to use a dietary supplement in place of drugs or in combination with any drug, tell your health care provider first. Many supplements contain active ingredients that have strong biological effects and their safety is not always assured in all users. If you have certain health conditions and take these products, you may be placing yourself at risk.

Taking a combination of supplements or using these products together with medications (whether prescription or OTC drugs) could under certain circumstances produce adverse effects, some of which could be life-threatening. Be alert to advisories about these products, whether taken alone or in combination.

It is important to fully inform your doctor about the vitamins, minerals, herbals or any other supplements you are taking, especially before elective surgery. You may be asked to stop taking these products at least 2-3 weeks ahead of the procedure to avoid potentially dangerous supplement/drug interactions — such as changes in heart rate, blood pressure and increased bleeding – that could adversely affect the outcome of your surgery.
