The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is a federal agency under the Federal Ministry of Health that is responsible for regulating and controlling the manufacture, importation, exportation, advertisement, distribution, sale, and use of food, drugs, cosmetics, medical devices, chemicals and packaged water in Nigeria. The organization was formed to checkmate illicit and counterfeit products in Nigeria in 1993 under the country’s health and safety law. Adulterated and counterfeit drugs are a problem in Nigeria. In one 1989 incident, over 150 children died as a result of paracetamol syrup containing diethylene glycol. The problem of fake drugs was so severe that neighboring countries such as Ghana and Sierra Leone officially banned the sale of drugs, foods, and beverages products made in Nigeria.

Working at NAFDAC

The public is advised to note that information on any future recruitment exercise by NAFDAC would be posted on their website and other social media platforms of the agency and National dailies. NAFDAC will not use any third party individuals, websites or other platforms to advertise positions or source for applicants. Usually for all positions, computer literacy is compulsory and applicant must not be more than 50 years of age.

Do not fall for scams, application for NAFDAC jobs is done via the www.nafdac.gov.ng recruitment link, the portal will be opened. When NAFDAC is employing, you will be required to fill an online application form, you would need to also upload your passport, CV and NYSC discharge certificate or exemption certificate depending on the NAFDAC job you are applying for.

Positions In NAFDAC and their Usual Entry Requirement

1. For Directorate Positions In Registration & Regulatory Affairs

i.    SALARY: CONRAISS 15
ii.    QUALIFICATIONS: A good university first degree in Pharmacy, Food Science, Biochemistry, Chemistry   and Microbiology. Possession of a higher degree in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
iii.    EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have satisfactorily completed the one year compulsory NYSC programme or  have  evidence of exemption plus at least 20 years post NYSC cognate work experience.

2. For Directorate Positions In planning, research & statistics
i. SALARY: CONRAISS 15
ii  QUALIFICATIONS: A good  degree (preferably Ph. D.) in Statistics or Economics or other related fields.
iii EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have satisfactorily completed the one year compulsory NYSC programme or  have evidence of  exemption plus at least 20 years post NYSC cognate work experience.

3. REGULATORY OFFICERS (Clinicians)
3.1  Chief Regulatory Officer (clinician)
1. SALARY: CONRAISS 12
2. QUALIFICATIONS: A good degree in Medicine plus registration with the Medical and Dental Council of  Nigeria (MDCN), Possession of  a higher degree in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
3. EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have satisfactorily completed the one year compulsory NYSC  programme or have evidence of exemption plus at least 6 years post NYSC cognate work experience in  clinical trials.

3.2  Principal  Regulatory Officer (clinician)
1. SALARY: CONRAISS 10
2. QUALIFICATIONS: A good degree in Medicine plus registration with the Medical and Dental Council of  Nigeria (MDCN), Possession of a higher degree in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
3. EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have satisfactorily completed the one-year compulsory NYSC programme or have evidence of exemption.

3.3 Senior Regulatory Officer (clinician)
1. SALARY: CONRAISS 09
2. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must possess a good B. Sc. degree in Nursing plus registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). Possession of a higher degree in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
3. EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have satisfactorily completed the one year compulsory NYSC programme or have evidence of exemption plus at least 6 years post NYSC cognate work experience in clinical trials.

3.4  Regulatory Officer I (clinician):
1. SALARY: CONRAISS 08
2. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must possess a good B. Sc. or Masters degree in Nursing plus registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). Possession of a higher degree in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
3. EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have satisfactorily completed the one year compulsory NYSC programme or have  evidence of exemption.
* Applicant without a Masters degree must have at least 3 years post NYSC cognate work experience in clinical trials.

3.5 Regulatory Officer Ii (clinician)

2. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must possess a good B. Sc. degree in Nursing plus registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
3. EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have satisfactorily completed the one year compulsory NYSC programme or have evidence of exemption.

4. REGULATORY OFFICERS (scientific officers)

4.1    Senior Regulatory Officer:
1. SALARY: CONRAISS 09
2. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must possess a good degree in Pharmacy. Possession of a higher degree in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
3. EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have evidence of completion of internship programme, registration with the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria and must also have satisfactorily completed the one year compulsory NYSC programme or have evidence of exemption.
4.2  Regulatory Officer I :
1. SALARY: CONRAISS 08
2. QUALIFICATIONS: A good Bachelor of Science degree or Masters degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science and Microbiology. Possession of a higher degree in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
3. EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have satisfactorily completed the one year compulsory NYSC programme or have evidence of exemption.
* Applicant without a Masters degree must have at least 3 years post NYSC cognate work experience.
4.3      Regulatory Officer Ii :

2. QUALIFICATIONS: LLB/B.L. Possession of a higher degree in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
3. EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have satisfactorily completed the one year compulsory NYSC programme or have evidence of exemption plus applicant must also be legally qualified to practice as a Barrister & Solicitor in Nigeria.

2. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must possess a Higher National Diploma in relevant fields or Associate membership of  Institute of Medical Laboratory Technologist (AIMLT) of Nigeria.

7. COMPUTER ANALYSTS
computer analyst ii :
      1. SALARY: CONRAISS 07
2. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must possess a good  Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
3. EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have satisfactorily completed the one year compulsory NYSC programme or have evidence of exemption.

8. STATISTICIANS
8.1   statistician i:
1. SALARY: CONRAISS 08
2. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must possess a good Bachelor of Science degree or Masters degree in Statistics OR a degree in Mathematics,  Economics, or other Social Sciences  plus a post-graduate diploma in Statistics from a recognized institution. Membership of relevant recognized professional bodies will be an added advantage.
3. EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have satisfactorily completed the one-year compulsory NYSC programme or have evidence of exemption.
* Applicant without a Masters degree must have at least 3 years post NYSC cognate work experience.

   8.2   STATISTICIAN II:
1. SALARY: CONRAISS 07
2. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must possess a good Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics OR a degree in Mathematics, Economics, or other Social Sciences  plus a post-graduate diploma in Statistics from a recognized institution.
